Our ship - MV. Fiji Princess

The ‘MV. Fiji Princess’ Experience

The MV. Fiji Princess will be your home away from home for the duration of your cruise, except you’ll wake up in a different stunning location each morning, and with 75 years' experience cruising the islands of Fiji, we know all the best places to take you! Who better to show you their home than the Fijians themselves? So, we pride ourselves on having an all-Fijian crew and with a high crew member-to-guest ratio, so you know you will be well looked after. Our crew will quickly know you by name, and every way you turn, there will be a big ‘BULA’ welcome.

Intimate Cruising

The small size of Blue Lagoon Cruises' cruise ship, the MV. Fiji Princess is just one of the reasons why a cruise with us is so special. Measuring 179 feet (55 metres), she can access bays and islands that would be impossible to reach in a larger ship – we can get so close to shore that we can tie off to a coconut tree, and you can swim to the beach.

  • With a maximum of 64 passengers and up to 30 Fijian crew, you know you will be well looked after with true Fijian hospitality
  • Due to our small number of guests, no matter which beach or island we visit, you won’t be overwhelmed by crowds. Most of the time, our guests are the only people on the beach!
  • The vessel's décor is fresh and nautical, with echoes of the romantic age of cruising gone by
  • You only need to unpack once and then let your floating hotel take you from an idyllic place to an idyllic experience, every day somewhere and something different
  • Visit traditional Fijian villages, swim in crystal-clear lagoons, and gaze out on tropical vistas you thought only existed in movies
  • Our guests often make friends for life, given the social atmosphere of small-ship cruising
  • If conditions are rough due to winds and swells, it's easy for us to alter our itinerary to cruise on the sheltered side of the islands

Cruising Schedule

Once a week the MV. Fiji Princess departs Port Denarau for her voyage into the enchanting Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. While you may travel on either the 32-cabin MV. Fiji Princess or the 22-cabin MV. Yasawa Princess II, both offer the same stunning destinations, all-inclusive experiences, and warm Fijian hospitality – so your cruise experience will be just as unforgettable, whichever ship you’re on.

The aft section of the Middle Deck offers additional sun loungers, as do the areas on either side of the splash pool, the Sun Deck, and the side decks on the Upper Level.

Cruise Preparation

Blue Lagoon Cruises caters to people of all ages and fitness levels. However, you do need to have a good enough level of mobility to make your way up and down staircases between each deck. While getting in and out of the tender boats can require a certain degree of mobility, the crew will tailor shore landings to suit, and there’s nothing wrong with staying on board for those who would prefer to relax and enjoy the scenery. On or off the ship, the Blue Lagoon Cruises team will ensure that you have a truly memorable experience.

Dress standard

The dress code is casual and informal, even at dinner. We encourage our guests to wear what they feel comfortable in and to leave their dinner jackets and high heels at home. For those wanting to visit villages for cultural reasons, we do ask that men wear a sulu (provided in your cabin) and women dress modestly with shoulders and knees covered.
